Research that Makes a Difference

A urologist and a senior scientist forge a research partnership that leads to the development of a better screening tool for bladder and renal cancers, prompting a change in clinical guidelines.

Researchers, clinicians, and operations staff collaborate to build an outreach program that improves primary medication adherence.

Physicians, project managers, and research associates run clinical trials that evaluate new treatments for conditions ranging from HIV to breast cancer.

People here make a difference in health. We work across disciplines, bringing together scientific, clinical, operational, and technical expertise to ask and answer important questions about health. The impact of our work goes beyond conference presentations and scholarly publications. It changes clinical practice, transforms care delivery, and improves health.

The Department of Research & Evaluation is the primary hub of research at Kaiser Permanente Southern California, employing more than 250 people in Pasadena, California and at medical centers throughout the region.
