Dr. Qian is a biostatistician lead for the Division of Epidemiologic Research and the Division of Biostatistics Research. Most of Dr. Qian’s methodological research was inspired by the statistical issues seen in collaborative work, particularly in vaccine safety studies in the areas of the self-controlled study design, sequential analysis, and propensity score analysis. She is also interested in assessing the systematic intervention effects using difference-in-difference design and trends analysis with applications in vaccine, AIDS, and cardiovascular disease research. In addition, her research interests include analysis of longitudinal data, multi-level models, marginal structural models, Bayesian statistics, and survival analysis with competing risks.
