Dr. Stephanie Reading is a chronic disease epidemiologist with research interests in the areas of mental health, aging, and cancer. Her work focuses on the use of observational research methods to address mind-body interactions and their impact on health. Dr. Reading’s research has focused on the assessment of cigarette smoking and negative body image; overeating and high-risk behaviors that result from psychological trauma; increasing physiological stress associated with the experience of psychosocial stressors; and being the recipient of a cancer diagnosis and a subsequent desire for death. Her current work among prostate cancer survivors examines changes in health-related quality of life and the impact of survivorship on mental health.
