Annette Langer-Gould, MD, PhD, MS

Dr. Annette Langer-Gould is the regional lead for Translational Neuroscience for the Southern California Permanente Medical Group and a practicing multiple sclerosis specialist at the Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center. Dr. Langer-Gould leads a team that develops, implements, and evaluates programs to provide high-quality, affordable care for individuals with MS and other neurologic diseases. She has been studying different aspects of MS susceptibility and prognosis for over 20 years. Her epidemiologic research focuses the comparative effectiveness and safety of rituximab and other MS treatments in a trial funded by the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute in collaboration with the Swedish MS Registry. She also studys racial and ethnic disparities in MS outcomes and access to treatments.  Her past work has focused MS and pregnancy and on how the interplay between genotype and modifiable factors such as vitamin D, sun exposure and diet determines MS susceptibility and prognosis. Dr. Langer-Gould currently serves as a voting member on the California Technology Assessment Forum, a core program of the Institute for Clinical and Economic Review.
